About the Role

The Paraprofessional provides essential instructional and behavioral support to students, particularly those with identified learning needs, under the direction of certified teachers and school leadership. This role is critical in helping students access instruction, build independence, and fully participate in the Montessori learning environment.

Paraprofessionals work closely with Special Education Teachers, classroom teachers, and related service providers to support students academically, socially, and emotionally across learning environments. The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, nurturing, and committed to supporting children in a personalized, inclusive setting.

Key responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct, day-to-day support to students individually or in small groups, as directed by the classroom teacher or Special Education Teacher.

  • Support students in accessing classroom instruction, Montessori materials, and learning routines.

  • Assist in implementing accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports as outlined by the instructional team.

  • Reinforce lessons and learning activities designed by teachers.

  • Support students during transitions, classroom work time, playground, lunch, bathroom breaks, field trips, and other school activities.

  • Help foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment where all students feel supported.

  • Observe student behavior and progress and communicate observations to teachers and school staff.

  • Assist with preparation of instructional materials and organization of learning spaces.

  • Maintain student confidentiality and follow all school policies and procedures.

  • Participate in professional development, trainings, and staff meetings as required.

  • Support classroom routines and expectations aligned to Montessori practices and school culture.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Two or more years of experience working with elementary-aged children is highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children with diverse learning needs.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to follow direction while also taking initiative when appropriate.

  • Commitment to the mission and core values of Invictus Nashville.

  • Willingness to learn and apply Montessori-aligned practices.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, start-up school environment.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and respectful school community.

This position may require up to 15% of travel.

Compensation

Invictus Nashville offers full-time employees competitive salaries and benefits options. As indicated below individuals hired in this role will start at the listed base salary:  $40,000–$55,000
